Thanks to a legal loophole, Vintage New York, a stylish wine shop with locations in SoHo and the Upper West Side, is one of the few places in New York City where you can by wine on Sunday. But that’s not the only reason VNY gets our thumbs up. (Seriously.) We think it’s great that the shop only stocks New York labels, which are surprisingly good, and love that you can taste any five of the 150 wines on the floor for $5 (and if you make a $50 purchase, they’ll knock the $5 tasting fee off your bill). The Upper West Side spot has a wine bar that is open until midnight seven days per week, and the SoHo outpost has an airy, communal-feeling restaurant with a menu that pays special attention to–surprise, surprise–food and wine pairings. Cheers! Vintage New York is filed under Shops: Wine&Liquor.
