Even better than the Owen Wilson flick Bottle Rocket is Bottlerocket, a fun, friendly wine shop near Union Square that caters to those who don’t profess to be connoisseurs. Because true New Yorkers dial up their food instead of cooking it, the shop has clever kiosks that suggest what wine to pair with what take-out, whether Chinese, Thai, or pizza. (All of the wines were chosen to go along with local restaurants’s delivery menus, which can also be picked up at the various stations). Plus, if you are looking to give wine as a gift, just head over to the display for “The Boss” or “Someone You Barely Know.” Prices range from cheap to expensive, and wine delivery is free if you live in the ‘hood.
