Topshop /
We’ve had our calendar marked for months now–and it’s finally here! No, not the Urbanista launch, although we’re super excited about that, obviously. We’re talking about Kate Moss for Topshop, which is available stateside starting yesterday. Debuting exclusively at Barneys Co-Op, the capsule collection is based on Moss’s effortless and often imitable personal style–drainpipe jeans, fedoras, anyone?–that seamlessly mixes rock ‘n’ roll chic with vintagey floral silhouettes. An added bonus: the price point is far more wallet-friendly than Moss’s own designer duds. So far Paris’s Colette and the Topshop flagship in London’s Oxford Circus have sold out of the entire line that includes a black mini-dress with a cut-out neck and striped dresses with matching vests—plus a whole slew of accessories like studded belts and leather trimmed aviator sunglasses. Those lucky Brits–they really do get everything first (including those Anya Hindmarch totes we’ve been dying for).
We’ve also heard that Topshop is testing the United States market with the Kate collection, so let’s hope it’s a success… New York urbanistas who are used to jet setting to London with an empty suitcase (to fill with their Topshop treasures, duh!) have had to scale back thanks to the ever-dropping dollar.
For now, however, these Kate-endorsed pieces will most certainly do. But, let’s face it, it’s Miss Moss’s actual wardrobe we are really lusting after.
