Whoever created the notion that the Opera was is an old-folks only club hasn’t visited the historic and stunning Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center in awhile: The performances these days really as accessible for anyone, especially since you can rush tickets Monday through Thursday for $20. You aren’t fluent in Italian or French? Don’t fret: You can read the subtitles to classics such as La Bohème and Il Barbiere di Siviglia on the sleek monitor on the seat directly in front of yours. And although the days of wearing gowns and tuxes to Saturday night shows are gone, the Opera is still a good excuse to get glamed up. –Cassandra Handley
