The Museum of Modern Art is one of the hippest museums in the city thanks to its edgy, contemporary collection of works by Jackson Pollock, Ellsworth Kelly (pictured right), and your neighbor’s four-year-old kid (kidding, kidding, but you must admit sometimes the cutting-edge artwork leaves you thinking, “How is this in a museum?”). Because of its central Midtown location, MoMa is always uber-busy, so if you’re looking to take a nice stroll through the galleries, avoid visiting during an opening or closing week of an exhibition, or on the weekends. And though the $20 admission fee is enough to scare anyone off, your ticket gets you in free at MoMa’s sister museum, P.S.1, in Queens, and Target Free Friday Nights require no pocket dipping from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. –Cassandra Handley
