The epitome of British, Tea and Sympathy redefines the term quaint. This delicious but tiny Greenwich Avenue canteen is situated right next to its little gift shop, which sells the best British goods that America could possibly offer (ie, Prince William postcards, Cadbury chocolate, McVITTIE BISCUITS…). The restaurant itself seats only 15 people at most, but serves the most satisfying bangers ‘n mash and shepherd’s pie on this side of the pond. Don’t try to make a reservation, and don’t be surprised if the wait staff asks you to move to another table mid-bite, as they are just doing their job to make as much room for the next set of folks that arrive. –Cassandra Handley
