John Masters Organics Salon, which is located in SoHo, originated was before this current “you have to be green to be cool” phase; in fact, John himself is still known in eco-friendly circles as one of the first really innovative green entrepreneurs. But get this: When you walk into the salon, it doesn’t have that chemical smell! That’s because all of the ingredients in John Masters’s hair products (except for the hair dye) are made with organic, environmentally friendly materials such as rose, lavender oil, and avocado—so not only are they good for the environment, but they also smell fantastic. Put those wondrous potions in recycled bottles and you have yourself the only clean air hair salon in the city. With a full staff of friendly stylists each armed with a holster of brushes, the salon offers cuts, dyes, highlighting, blowouts, and an incredible Shiatsu hair and scalp treatment that will leave your hair silky smooth.
